What I’ve Learned so Far in the First Modul
Introduction:
I found my first module at the SAE Institute, in the area of Content Creation & Online Marketing, incredibly exciting and full of new experiences. In just a few weeks, I gained my first insight into the media world and learned important fundamentals that I can use in my future projects.
One of the most important things I learned was how to use a camera properly. I had no previous experience working with cameras, but it was always something I had great interest and admiration for. I had the opportunity to learn from the ground up how to properly set up and adjust a camera, and how to adapt it to different situations. This showed me that even small details can make a big difference in the result, and how much I enjoy working with a camera.
Another focus was on the Adobe programs Lightroom, Photoshop, and InDesign. We worked extensively with these tools to prepare for the module submission. This gave me the opportunity to gain initial experience in image editing and understand the importance of working with software in the media industry. I also gained insights into the fundamentals of journalism. This included research, source work, interviews, and the basics of storytelling.
I found it particularly exciting not only to conduct an interview, but also to plan and prepare it, a task that showed me how important organization is.
Social media was also part of the module. I learned how different platforms work, how content is perceived, and what it takes to gain reach and attention.
Conclusion:
All in all, I really enjoyed the first module and it gave me a wide range of insights, from technology to creativity to journalistic work. It reassured me once again that I’m on the right path for me. I can’t imagine anything else but working in the media sector in the future.
